Dry Stone Canada will be holding a certification day for Level 1 and Level 2 certification exams with DSWA GB on Thursday, September 28th at Amherst Island, (near Kingston, Ontario).
We are pleased to announce the the lead examiner will be Andrew Loudon, Master Craftsman and DSWA GB’s Chief Examiner. The second examiner (required for Level 2 certification exam) is to be determined (incumbent on having anyone sign up for Level 2 testing).

- Deadline is July 15th
- Note there is a separate requirement to register with DSWA GB (application form link below)
Dry Stone Canada is charging the following for testing (covers cost of examiners)
- Level One Exam $300
- Level Two Exam $350
As well, there is a registration requirement in fee of 60 pounds (~ $120) with DSWA GB (details below).
DSWA GB Certification Scheme
The DSWA GB Craftsman Certification Scheme is the leading internationally recognized certification standard for dry stone walling. The DSWA certification levels are:
- Level 1/Initial
- Level 2/Intermediate
- Level 3/Advanced
- Master Craftsman
An application form should be submitted to the DSWA office at least six weeks ahead of the proposed test day.
Payment should accompany the form if paying by cheque or ensure you submit the application form to the office if payment is made via PayPal.
All Canadian candidates testing in Canada need to select the Overseas registration fee of 60£ when using PayPal, irrespective of the level of test.
