Young Wallers

In 2022, we are building new offerings for youth interested in stone, building, and understanding the history, geography, and legacy of dry stone walling in Canada.

Youth have always been part of our annual dry stone festival, building under parental supervision in our children’s area with walling volunteers. In 2019 Dry Stone Canada partnered with 4H on Amherst Island to add a structured component to this exploration.

Join the Young Wallers committee to help build our youth programming for the next generation of dry stone wallers in Canada. More information here

Colouring Sheets

So many of our members and fellow wallers and carvers have kids, or have their own playful creative side! In collaboration with Lynn Wyminga, we’re offering these Amherst Island dry stone colouring sheets for you to download, print, and colour. A fun activity during pandemic times (yes, when we’d all rather be at a workshop or festival).

We’re doing this as a fundraiser for The Back Kitchen, a volunteer-run operation on Amherst Island, and our go-to for hospitality during workshops and past festivals. Please donate to their campaign here, and help keep them going through Covid-19: www.thebackkitchen.com/donations/

Thank you, Lynn, for your great drawings of the walls of Amherst Island and County Tipperary!

Post your colouring sheets to our Facebook page!

We are creating a Dry Stone Canada colouring book this summer! If you would like to contribute drawings of walls, carvings, features, or stone landscapes, please contact us at the email below.
