DESCRIPTION:Dry Stone Canada is proud to partner with The Friends of Cherry Hill Cemetery to offer this 2 day walling workshop. This is the fourth time Dry Stone Canada has offered a workshop outside of Ontario! \n\n\n\nCherry Hill is a seaside village in Lunenburg county\, Nova Scotia\, about one hundred fifteen kilometres from Halifax. It’s on the Lighthouse Route. Nearby communities are Vogler’s Cove (3 km) and Broad Cove (4 km). Slightly further afield are the villages of Petite Riviere\, Mill Village\, and Port Medway. \n\n\n\nThe Friends of Cherry Hill Old Community Cemetery propose to restore a cemetery wall dating from the 1840s. It defines the entrance to the resting place of the many of Cherry Hill’s first early settlers. Currently\, much of the wall is hidden under an overgrowth of shrub and grass.  \n\n\n\nThe remnants of stone walls throughout the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg attest to two centuries of dry stone walling tradition all over the district.
