The site is at A.M (Mac) Cuddy Gardens in Strathroy, Ontario.
This workshop is an intermediate skill level. It is designed to teach participants how to shape stone for specific uses (a cheekend for example). Learn how to bone in, drop lumps and bumps, remove twist, cut a tidy corner.
This two-day workshop is not suitable for beginners. Prerequisite is to have taken at least one of our workshops and/or you have your level 1, and you are used to working with stone. Tools required are a stone hammer, a mallet, a point, 1” or 2″ tracer, and a square.
Most of the time will be spent learning to shape stone. Work from a bankers table (provided). Maximum number of participants is 6.
The A.M. (Mac) Cuddy Gardens, owned by Fanshawe College and managed by the Horticulture Program, feature one of the largest collections of plants in Ontario. Over two thousand species are displayed in dry, rock, woodland, perennial, rose and aquatic gardens. In addition, several plants found in the Garden are on the endangered species list such as the indigenous Cucumber Magnolia and the Yellow Trillium.
