Wall Workshop, Lombardy

October 3 @ 9:00 am October 4 @ 4:00 pm

$300 (2 day workshop. Fee includes lunches/snacks.)

Our Host

In early 2020, Sabina Barrett and Byron Carroll purchased the McKinney House property, unaware of its historical significance or long-standing reputation as a local landmark. Byron is an Ironworker and Welder with experience in masonry and carpentry, while Sabina has a background in architecture and works as a Conservation Technologist and Heritage Planner. The mid-19th-century stone house was built by blacksmith William McKinney along the former stagecoach route between Bytown and Kingston, establishing the property as an early hub of rural industry and travel. One of its defining features was the stone wall at the front of the property, later moved during the 1950s highway expansion and now significantly deteriorated. They are committed to restoring the property with care, beginning with rebuilding the stone wall as close to its original location as possible, preserving a character-defining feature that has framed the landmark for over 165 years.
